I was working for a big telecom client. At Infosys, we were providing them managed services so we handled every aspect of the project from requirement gathering by attending clients call, development, Testing, deployment (manual + automated) to maintenance. We handled the fallouts of their entertainment services ordering system. So if any unexpected behavior occurs during the dispatching part of the entire process the order would come to us and we had some resolvers to automate the issue, thus saving the workload of the technical support center.
Initially, I was assigned to a web project which was close to its deployment and I was supposed to close all the pending defects. The project was developed in spring MVC. I had to quickly learn the basic concepts of spring and implement them. This is the module where I started learning Maven, HTML 5, CSS3, Bootstrap 4, and jQuery. After that, I was assigned to a new project which was enhancements in a critical module, as our client acquired new business and they wanted to merge its functionality with the existing business flow. Most of the work in this module was ORACLE related which improved my PL/SQL and DB skills.
After that, I was assigned to some POCs. Our client asked us to implement CI/CD in the project. Here I lead a team of around 6 people to explore how we can implement maven and Jenkins, SonarQube into existing projects.
After that, I was assigned to a new project in which we removed our dependencies from C++ code by migrating it to Java. This project followed all CI/CD norms.
The client wanted us to migrate to Microservices architecture so I was assigned to create some POCs. They had the whole system in place, we were supposed to utilize it and deliver some microservices. We used spring boot with jersey for development.
